The number of Parvovirus cases has been increasing. This is typically a disease seen in puppies, but we are now also seeing cases in fully-grown unvaccinated dogs with some cases being fatal. Parvovirus is a very contagious disease. Please have your dog vaccinated. Multiple vaccinations are required for full protection.
If your dog has vomiting or diarrhea, please call before bringing your pet to the clinic. Do NOT walk your dog near the front entrance or bring your dog into the waiting room.
Until your dog is completely protected (approximately 10 days after the last injection in the vaccination series):
- Do not expose them to dogs of unknown vaccination status.
- Do not expose them to dogs that have recently been sick.
- Do not take them to the park.
- Do not take them to pet stores.
