After Surgery

The patient is disconnected from the anesthesia machine and moved from the surgery suite into the recovery area.  A nail trim is easily performed while the patient is still unconscious.

Once the patient is awake enough to swallow, the tube is removed from the trachea and the patient is placed in their cage to continue to recover.

The next morning the patient can go home.  Please allow 10 to 15 minutes for check-out and to go over your pet's discharge instructions.

The patient returns in approximately 10 days to have the sutures removed.  Thanks to Aspen for helping us tell the story of a spay!
